Good news ages well. We can continue to share old news that is good. The contemporary practice of focusing on the immediate and now—while productive in terms of presence—can foster the constant need for new and more. But effort, commitment, and time to achieve something complex and impactful should be celebrated, not diminished, nor easily replaced through social media or the twenty-four-hour news cycle. Have something good to share? Do so! We can all be happy to hear it again and again!
John Giorno was a poet and visual artist. His use of language in a simple format of sans serif letters set against either a monochromatic or rainbow background allows his ideas to be expressed with the maximum impact. “Sit in my heart and smile,” he wrote, as well as, “You got to burn to shine,” and “Life is a killer.” Bad news is always true, so is good.
