I believe art has the power to transform how we see—not just the world, but ourselves. What we choose to look at, spend time with, and surround ourselves with reflects who we are and who we want to become. For over two decades, I’ve dedicated my career to making art more accessible and personal, curating more than 200 exhibitions and building and leading two world-class institutions—the Aspen Art Museum and the Orange County Museum of Art—as CEO and Director. Along the way, I’ve worked with some of the most inspiring artists, thinkers, and visionaries of our time, written the Conversations About Art book series, hosted the About Art podcast, and published the Why Art Matters newsletter.

Now, through About Art, I want to bring together what I’ve learned to help you engage with art in a way that feels relevant, meaningful, and entirely your own. Because when we look at art, we’re also looking at ourselves.

What we choose to look at, spend time with, and surround ourselves with reflects who we are and who we want to become.
